7   And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
'ishshah⁸⁰² `anah⁶⁰³⁰ sachaq⁷⁸³² 'amar⁵⁵⁹ Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ nakah⁵²²¹ 'eleph⁵⁰⁵ David¹⁷³² rbabah⁷²³³

8   And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?
Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ m`od<sup>3966</sup> charah<sup>2734</sup> dabar<sup>1697</sup> yara`³⁴¹⁵ 'amar⁵⁵⁹ nathan⁵⁴¹⁴ David¹⁷³² rbabah⁷²³³ nathan⁵⁴¹⁴ 'eleph⁵⁰⁵ mluwkah⁴⁴¹⁰

9   And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.
Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ `avan⁵⁷⁷⁰ David¹⁷³² yowm³¹¹⁷ halah¹⁹⁷³

10   And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand.
mochorath⁴²⁸³ ra`⁷⁴⁵¹ ruwach⁷³⁰⁷ 'elohiym⁴³⁰ tsalach⁶⁷⁴³ Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ naba'⁵⁰¹² tavek⁸⁴³² bayith¹⁰⁰⁴ David¹⁷³² nagan⁵⁰⁵⁹ yad³⁰²⁷ yowm³¹¹⁷ chaniyth²⁵⁹⁵ Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ yad³⁰²⁷

11   And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence twice.
Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ tuwl²⁹⁰⁴ chaniyth²⁵⁹⁵ 'amar⁵⁵⁹ nakah⁵²²¹ David¹⁷³² qiyr⁷⁰²³ David¹⁷³² cabab⁵⁴³⁷ paniym⁶⁴⁴⁰ pa`am⁶⁴⁷¹

12   And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul.
Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ yare'³³⁷² paniym⁶⁴⁴⁰ David¹⁷³² Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ cuwr⁵⁴⁹³ Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶

13   Therefore Saul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.
Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ cuwr⁵⁴⁹³ suwm⁷⁷⁶⁰ sar⁸²⁶⁹ 'eleph⁵⁰⁵ yatsa'³³¹⁸ bow'⁹³⁵ paniym⁶⁴⁴⁰ `am⁵⁹⁷¹

14   And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.
David¹⁷³² sakal⁷⁹¹⁹ derek¹⁸⁷⁰ Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸

15   Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.
Sha'uwl⁷⁵⁸⁶ ra'ah⁷²⁰⁰ m`od³⁹⁶⁶ sakal⁷⁹¹⁹ guwr¹⁴⁸¹ paniym⁶⁴⁴⁰
