18   And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

19   So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

20   Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
chokmowth²⁴⁵⁴ ranan⁷⁴⁴² chuwts²³⁵¹ nathan⁵⁴¹⁴ qowl⁶⁹⁶³ rchob⁷³³⁹

21   She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
qara'⁷¹²¹ ro'sh⁷²¹⁸ hamah¹⁹⁹³ pethach⁶⁶⁰⁷ sha`ar<sup>8179</sup> `iyr⁵⁸⁹² 'amar⁵⁵⁹ 'emer⁵⁶¹

22   How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
pthiy⁶⁶¹² 'ahab¹⁵⁷ pthiy⁶⁶¹² luwts³⁸⁸⁷ chamad²⁵³⁰ latsown³⁹⁴⁴ kciyl³⁶⁸⁴ sane'⁸¹³⁰ da`ath¹⁸⁴⁷

23   Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
shuwb⁷⁷²⁵ towkechah⁸⁴³³ naba`<sup>5042</sup> ruwach<sup>7307</sup> yada`³⁰⁴⁵ dabar¹⁶⁹⁷

24   Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
qara'⁷¹²¹ ma'en³⁹⁸⁵ natah⁵¹⁸⁶ yad³⁰²⁷ qashab⁷¹⁸¹

25   But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
para`<sup>6544</sup> `etsah⁶⁰⁹⁸ 'abah¹⁴ towkechah⁸⁴³³

26   I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
sachaq⁷⁸³² 'eyd³⁴³ la`ag³⁹³² pachad⁶³⁴³ bow'⁹³⁵
