3   Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

4   We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

5   For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
quwm⁶⁹⁶⁵ `eduwth<sup>5715</sup> Ya`aqob³²⁹⁰ suwm⁷⁷⁶⁰ towrah⁸⁴⁵¹ Yisra'el³⁴⁷⁸ tsavah⁶⁶⁸⁰ 'ab¹ yada`³⁰⁴⁵ ben¹¹²¹

6   That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
dowr¹⁷⁵⁵ 'acharown³¹⁴ yada`³⁰⁴⁵ ben¹¹²¹ yalad³²⁰⁵ quwm⁶⁹⁶⁵ caphar⁵⁶⁰⁸ ben¹¹²¹

7   That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
suwm⁷⁷⁶⁰ kecel³⁶⁸⁹ 'elohiym⁴³⁰ shakach⁷⁹¹¹ ma`alal⁴⁶¹¹ 'el⁴¹⁰ natsar⁵³⁴¹ mitsvah⁴⁶⁸⁷

8   And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
'ab¹ carar⁵⁶³⁷ marah⁴⁷⁸⁴ dowr¹⁷⁵⁵ dowr¹⁷⁵⁵ leb³⁸²⁰ kuwn³⁵⁵⁹ ruwach⁷³⁰⁷ 'aman⁵³⁹ 'el⁴¹⁰

9   The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.
ben¹¹²¹ 'Ephrayim⁶⁶⁹ nashaq⁵⁴⁰¹ ramah⁷⁴¹¹ qesheth⁷¹⁹⁸ haphak²⁰¹⁵ yowm³¹¹⁷ qrab⁷¹²⁸

10   They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
shamar⁸¹⁰⁴ briyth¹²⁸⁵ 'elohiym⁴³⁰ ma'en³⁹⁸⁵ yalak³²¹² towrah⁸⁴⁵¹

11   And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.
