2   Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.
'amar⁵⁵⁹ Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ tsaba'⁶⁶³⁵ qana'⁷⁰⁶⁵ Tsiyown⁶⁷²⁶ gadowl¹⁴¹⁹ qin'ah⁷⁰⁶⁸ qana'⁷⁰⁶⁵ gadowl¹⁴¹⁹ chemah²⁵³⁴

3   Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.
'amar⁵⁵⁹ Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ shuwb⁷⁷²⁵ Tsiyown⁶⁷²⁶ shakan⁷⁹³¹ tavek⁸⁴³² Yruwshalaim³³⁸⁹ Yruwshalaim³³⁸⁹ qara'⁷¹²¹ `iyr⁵⁸⁹² 'emeth⁵⁷¹ har²⁰²² Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ tsaba'⁶⁶³⁵ qodesh⁶⁹⁴⁴ har²⁰²²

4   Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
'amar⁵⁵⁹ Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ tsaba'⁶⁶³⁵ zaqen²²⁰⁵ zaqen²²⁰⁵ yashab³⁴²⁷ rchob⁷³³⁹ Yruwshalaim³³⁸⁹ 'iysh³⁷⁶ mish`enah⁴⁹³⁸ yad³⁰²⁷ rob⁷²³⁰ yowm³¹¹⁷

5   And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.

6   Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.
'amar⁵⁵⁹ Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ tsaba'⁶⁶³⁵ pala'⁶³⁸¹ `ayin<sup>5869</sup> sh'eriyth<sup>7611</sup> `am⁵⁹⁷¹ yowm³¹¹⁷ pala'⁶³⁸¹ `ayin⁵⁸⁶⁹ n'um⁵⁰⁰² Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ tsaba'⁶⁶³⁵

7   Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;
'amar⁵⁵⁹ Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ tsaba'⁶⁶³⁵ yasha`<sup>3467</sup> `am⁵⁹⁷¹ mizrach⁴²¹⁷ 'erets⁷⁷⁶ mabow'³⁹⁹⁶ 'erets⁷⁷⁶

8   And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
bow'⁹³⁵ shakan⁷⁹³¹ tavek⁸⁴³² Yruwshalaim³³⁸⁹ `am⁵⁹⁷¹ 'elohiym⁴³⁰ 'emeth⁵⁷¹ tsdaqah⁶⁶⁶⁶

9   Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
'amar⁵⁵⁹ Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ tsaba'⁶⁶³⁵ yad³⁰²⁷ chazaq²³⁸⁸ shama`⁸⁰⁸⁵ yowm³¹¹⁷ dabar¹⁶⁹⁷ peh⁶³¹⁰ nabiy'⁵⁰³⁰ yowm³¹¹⁷ bayith¹⁰⁰⁴ Yhovah³⁰⁶⁸ tsaba'⁶⁶³⁵ yacad³²⁴⁵ heykal¹⁹⁶⁴ banah¹¹²⁹

10   For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.
